- August 04, 2011: The Govt's
version of the Lokpal bill was tabled in the Lok Sabha.
Prashant Bhushan and other IAC activists criticised the bill
as weak, stating that it would provide protection to the
corrupt officials.
- October 12, 2011: He was
attacked by the members of Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena inside
the Supreme Court complex, for his remarks earlier that (i)
the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) be revoked in
Jammu and Kashmir and (ii) the govt should try to persuade
the people of the Kashmir valley to align with India and
they should be allowed to separate if they wish to do so.
- March 04, 2015: Before the
elections, he had accused party's chief Arvind Kejriwal of
selecting candidates of his own choice. After the elections,
on this day, he and Yogendra Yadav were voted out of
Political Affairs Committee of Aam Aadmi Party for alleged
anti-party activities and for working toward the party's
defeat in the Delhi elections.
- March 28, 2015: He and
Yogendra Yadav were dropped from the National Executive
Council of the AAP following a vote, at a meeting.
- April 2015: He and Yadav
then formed a new political movement called Swaraj
Abhiyanand they were expelled from the party by AAP's
disciplinary committee.
- April 02, 2017: On this
day, in response to the UP Chief Minister's anti-Romeo
drive, he tweeted “Romeo loved just one lady, while Krishna
was a legendary Eve teaser. Would (UP CM Yogi) Adityanath
have the guts to call his vigilantes Anti-Krishna squads?”
Thereby he grossly hurted the Hindu sentiment. On the same
day, a police complaint was filed against him for his
alleged ‘inflammatory tweets’ against Lord Krishna.
- April 04, 2017: He
apologised for hurting Hindu sentiments by referring to Lord
Krishna as an eve-teaser in his criticism of the newly
instituted 'anti-Romeo squads' in Uttar Pradesh.

General |
- He is known for his use of public interest litigation
(PIL) to support a number of causes related to corruption,
environmental protection and human rights.
- He was a prominent member of the faction of the India
Against Corruption (IAC) movement known as Team Anna which
supported Anna Hazare's campaign for the implementation of
the Jan Lokpal Bill.
- After a split in IAC, he helped Team Anna form the Aam
Aadmi Party.
- In 2015, he made several allegations against the party's
leadership, it's functioning and deviation from its core
ideology, values and commitments.
- He is among the founder members of Swaraj Abhiyan and is
a force behind Sambhaavnaa, an Institute of Public Policy
and Politics.
- His father, Shanti Bhushan, is a lawyer-activist and a
former Union Law Minister in the Morarji Desai government.
